Research
The need to develop preventative strategies for meningitis and bovine tuberculosis are two prime examples where New Zealand cannot rely on imported knowledge/technology to solve the problem. Health products such as those based on milk/colostrum will need to be shown to have immunotherapeutic properties. To achieve these ends it will be necessary to maintain Immunology as a core competency within New Zealand.
